The Short-horned Grasshoppers

While still a member of the order Orthoptera, the short-horned grasshoppers are in the family Acrididae. The first thing that you will notice is that the antennae are much shorter and stockyer. Second, careful observation will show that they do not have ears on their front legs, their ears are on the sides of their abdomens.
