The Round-headed Katydids

The round-headed katydids get their name due to their head shape. Their heads are certainly rounded then the other false katydids. The Common Virtuoso Katydid had the most elaborate and fascinating song we have ever heard. The song is very high-pitched and was overlooked by entomologists. It was first described in 2004 in a paper by Dr. T.J. Walker. Imagine, a species common in the East only just now being given species status!
