Mostly singing at night a few species have daytime songs as well. Within the bush katydids we find the counting katydid, the Broad-winged bush katydid. each successive song has one to three more syllables than the song before it. It is amazing to listen to. The Northern Bush Katydid has the most complex song of this group and is only heard at night. The Fork-tailed Bush Katydid closely resembles the Treetop Bush Katydid in form and song. However, the Treetop Bush Katydid is well worth looking for because they quite handsome.
